DESCRIPTION
Design concept for a pedestrian and cyclist path from Longueuil to Boucherville along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. This 2km-long infrastructure contributes to the river’s often overlooked and impressive landscape and invites walkers and cyclists to discover the natural environment surrounding it. Its location creates an ecotone to allow a better transition between nature and the immediate highway context. The concept proposes to keep the path, site furniture, and railing as transparent as possible in order to keep the emphasis on the surrounding landscape. The design reveals a raw and simple personality, yet remains sensitive to the natural landscape variations.
