Port of Montreal’s Grand Quay, Montreal, Qc. Canada
HOME / PROJECTS / places + public spaces / Port of Montreal’s Grand Quay
DESCRIPTION
Restoration project of Alexandra Pier whose structures have been subject to multiple interventions over the years. The project upgrades the capabilities to better meet the needs of shipping lines and cruise passengers, who are choosing Montreal more and more as a destination. For Montrealers, the project contributes to better integrate the pier into the urban fabric and offers long-anticipated access to the water. The landscape project transforms the space into an attractive and surprising destination by highlighting the pier’s rich industrial site, dialoguing with existing structures and new architectural strategies, offering a diverse program, and following multiple ecological principals. In this vibrant context, shines the public art work Leurs effigies by Yann Pocreau.
