Place Joseph-Venne, Montreal, Qc. Canada
HOME / PROJECTS / places + public spaces / Place Joseph-Venne
DESCRIPTION
A new public plaza on Ontario Street as part of the major revitalization project of the Ste-Marie neighbourhood. The plaza acts as the courtyard for a CSDM building (Centre Gedeon-Ouimet) and establishes a connection with the adjacent JTI-MacDonald Corp building. Inspired by the neighbourhood’s desire to be greener, the plaza has two large green pockets densely planted with large trees designed to manage water surface runoff. The giant leaves pattern on the pavement is taking on a third dimension to become the focal point: a backlit fountain.
