Place Alice-Girard, Montreal, Qc. Canada
HOME / PROJECTS / places + public spaces / Place Alice-Girard
DESCRIPTION
First public plaza built on the major MIL Montreal development project, Place Alice-Girard is the cornerstone of this urban revitalization, achieved through a unique partnership between the University of Montreal and Ville de Montréal. The design of this geographic, physical, historical and cultural focal point marks its identity by anchoring itself on the memory of the railway industrial landscape and on the scientific vocation of the neighborhood. It thus showcases cutting-edge sustainable development practices and invites to a stimulating and astonishing experience with the large-scale mist fountain and public artwork 29 • 53 by Patrick Bernatchez.
