DESCRIPTION
Heritage restoration of the Grande Poudrière ponds located in the military cradle of Île Sainte-Hélène. A witness to the territory's evolution, this water feature presents a stratified ensemble exposing the different construction phases that contributed to the formation of its current identity. In keeping with the conservation development orientations of the park's master plan, the project integrates all the functional and technical requirements of the program developed. It improves water quality and reduces water consumption by integrating an eco-responsible management system and practices. In addition, the project enhances native vegetation, both terrestrial and aquatic, to enrich the landscape experience. The conservation strategy aims to strike a balance between the enhancement of built and natural heritage. The design diversifies the area's uses by promoting accessibility and inclusion, while rehabilitating the site's amenities, equipment and furnishings.
