DESCRIPTION

Redevelopment of two parks in the Mercier-Est district, located between Notre-Dame Street and Promenade-Bellerive Park, to address the area's stormwater management problems during major meteorological events. The project revolves around the creation of two above-ground hydraulic links that will eventually drain runoff from a large part of the district to the river. The Bellerive Street axis becomes the programmatic axis around which relaxation and freshness zones are grafted, as well as picnic and food areas. The concept evokes the traces of the old riverbank, encourages reconnection with the river and the reappropriation of rue Bellerive by converting it into a park, and diversifies the ecosystems in place.
