DESCRIPTION

Winning project (1st prize) in the multidisciplinary architecture competition for the construction of a new library and the redevelopment of a park for the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension. In keeping with the community spirit of the recreational and cultural hub in which the project is located, the library is integrated with a resilient oasis park, nourished by rain and enlivened by culture. This complex offers a lively and diverse landscaping program: urban agriculture gardens, family spaces, relaxation and reading areas, a playground, and a food forest. Designed to preserve as many existing trees as possible, the project is framed by large Carolina poplars that carry the memory of the Patro, the neighborhood, and the city.
