DESCRIPTION
Runner-up proposal in the design competition for the airport entrance feature, organized by Aéroport de Montréal authority. The project creates a memorable kinetic experience, orchestrating two distinct readings for (1) those arriving to the airport [leaving the city], and (2) for those arriving to the city [leaving the airport]. Reminiscent of a window framing the landscape, the project slices and frames the ever-evolving skyscape. At a moment of climax of this dynamic perception sequence, like a flash, the structure turns the sky into a super-graphic YUL♥MTL. The signal feature contrasts with its sign-saturated airport surroundings proposing a strong identity symbol and threshold moment.
